Day 46/365 – A Greener Brighter Idea

My New Years resolution besides finishing this project was to try to change 1 thing in my life a month that would make me and my family greener and more environmentally conscious. It could be as simple as changing out some light bulbs with lower energy ones, which I did in the bathrooms. Here is a photo of my “Bright Idea”.

If you made a change to be greener, please share it with me.

Day 41/365 – Sinimin Froot Loops

My kids love to add a bunch of ingredients to something to make a special treat. What sounds completely disgusting to the adult ear, sounds really yummy to a child’s ear. I have included my kids famous Sinimin Froot Loops along with the ingredients they used written by my son Ryan (7 1/2 yrs old).

WARNING: If you get grossed out easily, you may want to wait until tomorrow’s photo! I’m planning on photographing severed rat heads. Just kidding.

Day 40/365 – Get Your Brownies Here

Here is a yummy looking photo of an item being sold at tomorrow’s bake sale at my son’s school. My wife always participates in bake sales to get funding for his school. But if cities knew how to spend money, then maybe this wouldn’t be necessary. Come on Worcester, this one bake sale will bring in $200.00 or maybe $300.00 if they’re lucky. Are you telling me Worcester can’t chip in? Maybe Worcester and other towns and cities can recognize these types of fund raisers and match what they bring in dollar for dollar. Is that a lot to ask for?

Another thing that bugs the heck out of me is for the school my son attends and soon my daughter, there are only about 20 parents that donate baked goods and volunteer for the day. That is 20 parents out of 500 families. Am I missing something here? How about instead of an unrecognized bake sale, why don’t families step forward and donate $1.00. That is change in your car, or in your seat cushion at home. If this happens on a monthly basis, then that is $500.00 per month for the public school your children are attending for free plus the taxes you pay which never seem to find their way to the school system at least from I can tell. $1.00 a month is really not a lot to ask for.

Thank you to everyone who participates in the fund raisers and I hope more people step up to the plate for their children.

Anyways… That is enough ranting for today. I hope you enjoy this photo. These brownies will bring in about $18.00 to the school and an additional $18.00 donated from me if they all sell, which I don’t doubt that they will.
